Seconds after the noonday gun at St Peter Port, in a cloud of smoke. The cannon had made me jump, so I almost missed the moment.

    A fun shot in a 'letterbox' crop, so called because of the long thin shape of the image. The red of the subjects uniform splendidly pops out of the page and pulls the viewer in.
