At the western end is a copy of the original wrought-iron gates and railings that fronted the War Office before it moved to Whitehall in 1906. The third Lord Carrington bought them for his residence at Daws Hill Lodge. Wycombe Abbey School bought the house and surrounding land in 1929. In 2015 it financed the erection of new boundary gates and railings based on the original design, although a clean-up was evidently overdue in 2021.
