The Chiltern Open Air Museum is one of many in the region and perhaps my favourite. It was opened to the public in 1981 and aims to create a living landscape that connects the past to the present, preserving the cultural heritage of the Chilterns. The museum rescues and restores common English buildings that might otherwise have been destroyed or demolished.
