2022 EXHIBITION
384 photos in 5 sub-albums
PhotoGroup Chairman Barry Hunt As mentioned below, the Online Photographic Exhibition 2022 had a record-breaking number of entries and entrants, a dozen of whom submitted photos for the first time. Arguably, it helped that the pandemic travel restrictions encouraged more members to visit photogenic locations throughout the UK (a qualifying rule for entrants) as well as the Chilterns of course. At any rate, it further reinforces the exhibition's appeal among the Society's membership. Our thanks go to Quiller Barrett, the PhotoGroup's web editor, who edited this 18th edition of the exhibition. We are also grateful to Damon Guy for again supplying the informative and inspiring comments that accompany the photographs. Exhibition Editor Quiller Barrett After the lockdowns members have been out and about with a vengeance in 2021 – a record number of entries, 384 in all, with 12 new entrants. Allocating photos to appropriate categories can sometimes be difficult. Occasionally I have queried the choices that members have made but, by and large, I’ve left well alone. Exhibition Commentator Damon Guy Damon Guy has been a photographer since his teens. Once hooked, his interest led to serious camera purchases. Damon focussed mainly on personal projects and interests. In 2000, he got his first digital camera. That sparked off a broader relationship with photography that continues today. After years as a camera club member, Damon went professional in 2010. Now he runs a photography website (https://photokonnexion.com), teaches photography and works freelance too. Damon also manages photographic judging in the Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs. He is an active photographic judge and lecturer at camera clubs throughout the SE of England.

The Bridgewater Monument, Ashridge
It can be seen from miles around. It celebrates the 18th century achievements of Francis Egerton, the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater known as ‘The Canal Duke’. The green urn at the top was made from copper reputedly brought from South America; the column is Aberdeen granite and the base York stone.
The winner was: Phil Malcolm.
