Adjacent to the iron plough is a combined street lamp and hand-operated water pump. The Grade II listed feature was made by the local iron founder, Joseph Cranstone, and erected in 1848 by public subscription. It includes an embossed cameo of Henry VIII, who granted the town its first Royal Charter in 1539.
