At the street's northern end stands a Model A12 iron plough manufactured in the town by J Davis & Son around 1900. James Davis set up an iron foundry in Marlowes in 1841 to make and repair agricultural machinery. For over 100 years the firm traded as Boxmoor Ironworks, then later as Davis & Bailey. A12 ploughs were highly regarded over a large area.
