Online Exhibition 2017
The Exhibition will be held on the Chiltern Society PhotoGroup website from 1st January to 31st December 2017.
The scope of the exhibition is restricted to pictures taken only within the UK including, of course, the Chilterns. This is intended to allow a strong comparison between the Chilterns and other parts of the UK.
There are no prizes; it is an opportunity offered to Chiltern Society members to display their individualistic interpretations of the Chilterns and elsewhere, in contrast to the more standard style which we have to use for the Library on the website. It represents an opportunity for photographers to express themselves more widely than on our outings.
Images may be taken using a camera, smart phone, an iPad or similar.
Pictures are to be submitted as digital files, see Rules below for details.
When you enter photographs you will be confirming that you are the author and owner of the copyright, and that you have complied with the Society’s Guidelines concerning the right to privacy (see the legal section in the Photographers Guide on this website).
Rules
1. Only members of the Chiltern Society may enter the Exhibition. Members may submit photographs taken anywhere in the UK, not exclusively in the Chilterns.
2. The person submitting the entries must be the author and owner of the copyright.
Photographs may be in colour or black & white; they may not have been previously published on our website.
Closing date for entries is 20 November 2016
3. There are five classes, Landscape (L), Buildings (B), Flora/Fauna (F), Heritage (H) and Other (O).
The Heritage class includes works of artifice such as machinery, or crafts such as basket making. Other can include pictures which do not fit easily into the other four classes.
Up to 15 pictures overall may be entered with not more than 6 in any one class; entries will be displayed at the discretion of the PhotoGroup committee. All entries will be presumed to be donations to the PhotoGroup Library unless you tell us otherwise.
Deliver your image in JPG format with the long side of your picture at about 2000 pixels or more. But if this isn't possible just send the photo at the highest resolution that you have available.
Give each photo a unique file name as follows: the author's initials followed by a unique number starting at 1, the location of the photo and a letter L, B, F, H or O indicating the class.
Example of a file name: BH1 Berkhamsted B.
If you wish to add a title or other descriptive information to a photo please provide details in the email you send to webphotos@chilternphoto.org.uk telling us your upload session is complete.
Your name will be displayed below published images.
4. Please submit entries via Upload photos, following instructions on the web page.
5. Submission of photographs will be deemed to constitute acceptance of the above rules.
