The north arcade in St Mary at Eaton Bray is a glorious example of 13th century architecture. It consists of five bays with richly moulded arches and beautifully carved foliate capitals. Each capital on the north arcade is of the same design. The leaves are deep-cut and swept sideways round the pier drum, known as ‘windblown’.
