Hambleden Mill at Mill End in 2017 housed luxury apartments. The original mill was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 and a flash lock may have existed on the river here at that time. A pound lock, with heavy wooden manual beams, was built in 1773. The building was Grade II listed in 1955.
