For a heraldry buff, Flamstead church is a joy. It has no less than seven funeral hatchments such as this and is lucky to have had a prominent local family (the Saunders-Sebrights of nearby Beechwood Park) to impart continuity. The red hand in the first quarter signifies a baronetcy.
