The separate Chapel was incorporated into the church in the late 18th century and was refurbished in the late 1940s. The parish church guide describes it ‘as a perfect restoration of a chapel of the Tudor period and it is almost unique in English church architecture because the layout, design and furnishings are as they would have been when the Chapel was founded over 400 years ago’. Either side of the east window are funerary hatchments.
