The Priory Church of St Peter was founded in about 1132 with its monastery (Dunstable Priory) alongside. All that remains of the old priory is the 15th century gateway on the right which before the Dissolution in the late 1530s led to a dormitory for the monks, an infirmary, stables, workshops, a bake house, a brew house and a buttery.
