Turn left at the top of Church Lane and you reach the mock ruined entrance to West Wycombe chalk caves in Church Hill Road. They were extended in the 18th century by Sir Francis Dashwood and used by the notorious Hell Fire Club for their activities, reputed to be associated with wine, women and song.
