The Penn Estate is part of the Central Chilterns Farmers Cluster Group: about 15 farms work with the Conservation Board as part of a Sustainable Farming Incentive pilot scheme. Ten percent of each farm’s acreage has been set aside to be planted with sunflowers, millet and phacelia, all of which encourage bees, other pollinators and beneficial insects.
