Colin and I had discovered the Aston Rowant Nature Reserve either side of the M40 quite early and noticed the fringed gentians that grew there, similar to some we had photographed in Austria. There was even one called a chiltern gentian, but identification was difficult. Gay took a party there in September 2012 and pointed out that these gentians hybridised freely. This is not a perfect photograph but it is one that she believed is most likely to actually be a true chiltern gentian, the county flower of Buckinghamshire.
