The MOT Centre on Redbourn's industrial estate does a good trade. Years back it would have been stagecoaches and horses - for the village was a significant staging post until the London to Birmingham railway was built in 1833. The site was once the approach road and goods yard with sidings for Redbourn's main station on the former railway line between Hemel Hempstead and Harpenden.
