Here is the Marsworth entrance to the old Cheddington/Marsworth airfield. It is situated across the two counties of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, but is mostly in Buckinghamshire. It was briefly used as a WW1 aerodrome by the Royal Flying Corps, but closed after the Armistice. It opened in March 1942 as a satellite station to RAF Wing, being occupied by the RAF and then by the US 8th Air Force. It was concerned with bomber/espionage support and training. It is currently home to many local businesses, and is also regularly used for filming.
