A fine Victorian village house with prominent ‘B’ for Brownlow, estate owners of Ashridge. In 1866 the incumbent at Ashridge was John William Spenser Egerton Cust, 2nd Earl Brownlow, who only lived one more year before his early demise, aged twenty five.
