The River Wye viewed from the Pann Mill footbridge. It is one of the historically important chalk streams in the Chilterns and rises north-west of West Wycombe. Around 10 miles later the Wye empties into the River Thames at Bourne End via Loudwater and Wooburn Green. 'Revive the Wye' began in 2008 as a volunteer-led initiative to improve the river. The Chiltern Society, the High Wycombe Society and the Wycombe Wild Life Group are founder-partners of the council-backed scheme.
