Most of my exploration of the Chilterns has been on foot, but there have also been many local parts I have got to know well on a bicycle, often accompanied by our then toddler son sitting (or asleep!) on a seat on the crossbar. One village I normally pass through is nearby Kidmore End, often taking a breather beside this attractive pond. March 1994*
