St Paul’s Walden Bury was built in 1767 and extended a century later. The house is best known for its connections to the Queen Mother, daughter of the Earl and Countess of Strathmore, whose family, the Bowes-Lyons, have owned the estate for over 200 years. The garden, seen here in 2007, is Grade 1 listed and is open on several days each year. GR 188215
