The Trail ascends Telegraph Hill amongst long grasses. We can look back westward to see Warden Hill in the distance. The hill gets its name from the telegraph station, part of the Admiralty signalling system between Great Yarmouth and London, located here between 1796 and 1814 to give early warning of an invasion by Napoleon’s forces.
