Kitchener Works: two-inch thick planks of English oak delivered after two years seasoning in a wood yard. The next stage is further drying in a kiln to reduce moisture content to 12%. The chair making shop is on the first floor of the building in the background, dating from the early 1900s. The ground level brick extension was built following proceeds from fire insurance in 1966.
