The longitudinal pew, on the right facing the pulpit, was for the Rudge/ Spencer families. John Rudge bought the Wheatfield estate in 1727 and it was sold to the second son of the 3rd Duke of Marlborough, Lord Charles Spencer, in 1769. Wheatfield remained in the Spencer family until 1973.
