This photograph of the wall decoration, viewed west through the nave, shows the exquisite detail in the Corinthian Order. Between the capitals there is a band with crossed palms and doves in a rococo style (the dove symbol is used frequently throughout the decoration, including on the baptismal font). Below them, between the engaged columns, there are garlands with excellent naturalistic detail. Note how ‘engaged columns’ are not freestanding circular columns but ‘half-columns’ attached to the wall.
