The Community Church (formerly the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel) on The Green opened in 1873, although Methodism in Wooburn Green began earlier that century. Today its denomination is a relatively new Christian sect called Newfrontiers, part of the worldwide Evangelical Alliance.
