Nicholas Revett, who also worked on West Wycombe House, designed the interior of St Lawrence inspired by drawings of the 4th century Temple of the Sun at Palmyra in Syria. By removing the original aisles and heightening the walls he made the nave resemble a large room. The lectern and pulpit are 'school of Chippendale'. The chancel behind the altar is reached through iron gates, making it appear as a small chapel. (2014)
