The font pre-dates the church and is a beautiful example of Norman deep carved work. It is large enough for a small baby to be completely immersed, which was the practice when it was carved. The base of the font is early English and was once thought to be an upturned capital but during restoration it was found to be an upturned font. The surrounding floor is paved with medieval tiles.
