The Independent Chapel was built in 1815 to a rectangular shape using Flemish bond red brick on flint footings and with a slate roof. There had been a history of nonconformist meetings in the area going back to the late 17th century. The Sunday School extension was added in 1884 featuring shaped bargeboards to the gables. A kitchen and toilets were added to the north wall in 1956. The graves are mainly of the family of the major benefactor.
