Gravestone of Eric Gill and his wife. Gill was a sculptor and typographer who spent the last years of his life at nearby Piggotts. He died of lung cancer during an air raid at Harefield Hospital, Middlesex. The legend on the gravestone reads "Pray for me, Eric Gill, Stone Carver, 1882 - 1940, and for my most dear wife, Mary Ethel, 1878 - 1961."
