The Cricketers Pond is at the southern end of The Green. The Cricketer is the nearby pub; it once housed the first dissenters who later became Baptists. The village wheelwright worked close by and used the pond: wagons would be driven into the pond when their wood dried out and they started creaking.The pond used to be home to a community of ducks and after they moved on the DUCKS CROSSING sign was removed.
