Marlow Place, a fine Georgian mansion in Station Road, dates from 1721 and was probably built for John Wallop, 1st Earl of Portsmouth. George II, when Prince of Wales, lived here and in 1802 Marlow Place was an annex of the Royal Military College. In 1950 it was a girls' finishing school and in 2005 it housed offices.
