The Smithy Cottage on Taylors Lane was built onto the end of Stephen's Farm barn in 1768. The haphazard red and grey brickwork contrasts with the uniform black-painted clapboarding of the neighbouring house. Between the first floor windows on the front facade is a 'County' fire mark plaque (not shown).
