In 2012 the Rossetti Hall in New Pond Road housed the Little Missenden parish council office. It was also where the Chiltern Society’s Historic Buildings & Landscape Group met. Christina Rossetti and Dante Gabriel Rossetti regularly visited their Italian grandfather Gaetano Polidori (1764-1853) who retired to Holmer Green in 1836. "If one thing schooled me in the direction of poetry, it was the delightful liberty to prowl all alone about my grandfather's cottage grounds", wrote Christina.
