While at West Wycombe I also photographed the garden at the Swan Inn. Tim Kendell introduced me to Philosophy in the Pub there and I enjoyed their sessions for many years. On summer evenings the group would start out in the garden with their beers before the serious work of learning and discussion began in the bar.

Tim died in 2016 and the Chilterns Woodland Burial that he had planned was a beautiful but very sad occasion. I carried on with the philosophy for a few more years but eventually swapped it for a literature class much nearer home.
