An amusing incident happened while Margaret Thatcher was still Prime Minister. We were innocently photographing Chequers while walking along the footpath surrounding the estate when we were stopped by an armed guard on a bicycle. It took a little while to convince him we were not would-be IRA assassins! This nice winter photo was taken on a later Chilterns Archaeology walk with Brian Bowman in December 2010.
